Expanding the Park Through Shoreline and Waterfront Improvements
Veterans Park Shoreline Restoration Phase II focused on restoring and strengthening the waterfront edge of the property while supporting the long term function and appearance of the site. This work built on the success of the earlier park improvements by extending the project into shoreline restoration and environmental enhancement measures that help protect and improve the bayfront setting.
This phase included shoreline stabilization work, breakwaters, shoreline fill, planting in saltmarsh enhancement areas, creation of additional saltmarsh areas, and continued boardwalk related improvements. Together, these elements contributed to a more durable and resilient shoreline while supporting the broader character and usability of the park.
